Description

Argiolas Turriga Isola dei Nuraghi IGT is the flagship Italian red wine of Argiolas, Sardinia's most iconic family-owned winery. First produced in 1988 under the guidance of renowned consulting winemaker Giacomo Tachis, Turriga is widely regarded as one of Italy's greatest red wines and a benchmark expression of Sardinian terroir. Crafted primarily from Cannonau, complemented by Carignano, Bovale Sardo, and Malvasia Nera, the wine is sourced from low-yielding vineyards in the Trexenta area of southern Sardinia.

The Mediterranean climate, limestone-rich soils, and meticulous vineyard management produce grapes of exceptional concentration and balance. Following fermentation, the wine is aged for 18–24 months in French oak barriques, followed by extended bottle maturation before release. The result is a powerful yet elegant wine with remarkable depth, complexity, and outstanding aging potential of 20 years or more.

COLOR:
Deep ruby red with garnet reflections, displaying exceptional concentration and brilliance.

NOSE:
Complex and intense aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry, plum, and blueberry intertwine with notes of Mediterranean herbs, myrtle, tobacco, cedar, dark chocolate, sweet spices, vanilla, leather, and balsamic nuances.

TASTE:
Full-bodied, rich, and impeccably balanced. Layers of black fruits, cassis, licorice, cocoa, espresso, and baking spices unfold over silky yet firm tannins. Fresh acidity and refined oak integration provide remarkable elegance and structure.

FINISH:
Exceptionally long and persistent, with lingering notes of dark berries, spice, tobacco, mineral undertones, and savory Mediterranean herbs.
