Bellingham The Bernard Series Bush Vine Pinotage is a premium South African red wine that celebrates the country's signature grape, Pinotage. Produced by Bellingham Wines in the Coastal Region of the Western Cape, this limited-release wine pays tribute to the pioneering spirit of Bernard Podlashuk, the winery's visionary co-founder. Crafted from 100% Pinotage, the grapes are sourced from low-yielding, unirrigated bush vines growing in weathered granite soils, producing fruit of exceptional concentration and character.

The grapes are hand-harvested, carefully sorted, and fermented with meticulous attention to detail before maturing in French oak barrels for approximately 12–14 months. The result is a refined, full-bodied Pinotage that showcases the variety's elegance, balancing vibrant fruit with savory complexity and beautifully integrated oak.

Tasting Notes

NOSE:
Expressive aromas of black cherry, ripe mulberry, raspberry confit, and plum are layered with notes of smoked meat, truffle, dark chocolate, baking spices, and subtle oak.

TASTE:
Full-bodied and richly textured, offering flavors of black cherry, blackberry, plum pudding, and raspberry alongside hints of dark chocolate, black pepper, clove, and earthy minerality. Fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity provide excellent balance and structure.

FINISH:
Long, succulent, and elegant, with lingering notes of dark berries, spice, savory oak, and refined smoky nuances.
