Les Jardins de Babylone Moelleux is a legendary sweet wine produced by the estate of Didier Dagueneau in the foothills of the Pyrenees, within the Jurançon appellation in South-West France.

Originally developed as a passion project by Didier Dagueneau and now continued by his son Louis-Benjamin, this wine is made from 100% Petit Manseng, a grape capable of achieving exceptional ripeness while retaining piercing acidity. The vineyard site, nicknamed “Babylone,” sits on steep, sun-exposed terraces with poor, mineral-rich soils that contribute to the wine’s intensity and precision.

Unlike heavier dessert wines, this is a moelleux style that balances richness with tension, combining natural sweetness with striking freshness and longevity.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Deep golden yellow with amber reflections.

NOSE:
Pineapple, mango, apricot, candied citrus peel, honey, saffron, and floral notes.

TASTE:
Lush and concentrated, showing tropical fruit, quince paste, orange marmalade, and ripe stone fruit balanced by vibrant acidity and a saline mineral edge.

FINISH:
Very long, precise, and lifted with lingering honeyed citrus and spice.
