Part of the Heitz estate since 1984, the vineyard is located between Silverado Trail and Conn Creek on the eastern side of Rutherford, where rocky, well-drained alluvial and volcanic soils create ideal conditions for growing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. Crafted exclusively from the finest vineyard blocks, this wine exemplifies the classic Heitz style—elegant, age-worthy, and terroir-driven.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Deep ruby to garnet red with vibrant purple highlights in its youth.

NOSE:
Complex and expressive, featuring aromas of blackcurrant, red cherry, blackberry, and plum layered with rosemary, sage, thyme, cedar, graphite, cocoa, and subtle earthy notes. Trailside is known for its distinctive savory herb character, a hallmark of the vineyard.
