La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 890 Rioja is one of Spain’s most iconic and collectible red wines, produced only in exceptional vintages by the historic La Rioja Alta, S.A. winery. First created in 1926 to commemorate the winery’s 35th anniversary, Gran Reserva 890 represents the pinnacle of traditional Rioja winemaking.
Crafted primarily from Tempranillo, with small proportions of Graciano and Mazuelo depending on the vintage, the wine is sourced from old-vine vineyards in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. It undergoes extended aging in American oak barrels, followed by many years of bottle maturation before release. The result is a wine of extraordinary complexity, elegance, and longevity that exemplifies the finest traditions of Rioja.
