Description

La Rogerie – Schneid Turckheim is a highly regarded single-vineyard Riesling from Alsace, produced by the rising-star estate La Rogerie, founded by Justine Boxler and François Petit. The wine originates from the Schneid lieu-dit in Turckheim, a small parcel located on the upper slopes of the Brand hill, just outside the Grand Cru boundary. The site's north-facing exposure and granitic soils produce a Riesling of remarkable tension, precision, and mineral expression.

Farmed organically and biodynamically, the wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged on its lees in used barrels before bottling without fining or filtration. Production is extremely limited, making Schneid one of the most sought-after wines in La Rogerie's Alsace portfolio.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Pale gold with bright green reflections and exceptional clarity.

NOSE:
Intense and aromatic, offering notes of lime zest, lemon, white peach, apricot, honeysuckle, green apple, and crushed granite. Subtle floral and mineral nuances add complexity and elegance.

TASTE:
Dry, concentrated, and energetic, with flavors of citrus, orchard fruits, white peach, and stone fruits layered over a powerful mineral core. The granitic terroir contributes precision and tension, while extended lees aging adds texture and depth. The wine combines richness with remarkable freshness and acidity.

FINISH:
Long, saline, and focused, with lingering citrus peel, wet stone, and chalky mineral notes.
