Named in honor of John Daniel Jr., the legendary proprietor who established the reputation of the historic Inglenook estate, J. Daniel Cuvée represents the pinnacle of the Lail family’s winemaking vision.

Crafted by renowned winemaker Philippe Melka, the wine is sourced from some of Napa Valley’s finest vineyard sites, including hillside and valley-floor parcels that contribute power, complexity, and elegance. Produced in limited quantities, J. Daniel Cuvée is celebrated for its exceptional concentration, impeccable balance, and remarkable aging potential, standing among California’s elite Cabernet Sauvignons.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Deep, opaque ruby-purple with exceptional density and brilliance.

NOSE:
Complex and captivating, with aromas of cassis, blackberry, black cherry, and plum layered with violets, graphite, cedar, tobacco leaf, dark chocolate, espresso, and subtle exotic spices.

TASTE:
Full-bodied, rich, and impeccably structured. Concentrated black fruit flavors are supported by finely textured tannins and vibrant acidity. Notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, dark plum, cocoa, espresso, crushed rock, and sweet oak spice unfold in seamless layers. Despite its power, the wine displays remarkable precision and elegance.

FINISH:
Exceptionally long and refined, with lingering notes of cassis, graphite, cedar, dark chocolate, and mineral complexity.
