Littorai Wendling Block E Pinot Noir is one of the most distinctive and limited-production Pinot Noirs in the Littorai portfolio. Crafted by renowned winemaker Ted Lemon, this single-block wine originates from Block E of the Wendling Vineyard in Anderson Valley, Mendocino County. The vineyard is located in the cool "Deep End" of Anderson Valley, where Pacific fog and coastal breezes create ideal conditions for producing Pinot Noir with exceptional finesse, complexity, and longevity.

Farmed biodynamically and vinified with a minimal-intervention philosophy, Wendling Block E is produced only in select vintages and in extremely small quantities. The wine is celebrated for its precision, aromatic depth, and ability to transparently express one of California's finest Pinot Noir sites.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Brilliant ruby to deep garnet, with remarkable clarity and concentration.

NOSE:
Highly perfumed and layered, offering aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, cranberry, and pomegranate. Floral notes of rose petal and violet intertwine with hints of orange zest, black tea, forest floor, dried herbs, baking spice, and crushed stone.

TASTE:
Elegant yet powerful, with exceptional purity and detail. Vibrant red berry fruits are framed by silky tannins and bright natural acidity. Flavors of cherry, raspberry, red plum, and wild berries unfold alongside savory earthiness, subtle spice, mineral tension, and delicate woodland notes. The wine combines concentration with remarkable transparency and balance.

FINISH:
Long, nuanced, and persistent, leaving impressions of red fruit, floral perfume, tea leaf, spice, and saline minerality.
