Philippe Pacalet Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru is a powerful yet remarkably refined Grand Cru Burgundy from the celebrated Corton-Bressandes climat in Aloxe-Corton. Produced by the highly regarded Burgundian vigneron Philippe Pacalet, this wine exemplifies his minimalist, terroir-driven philosophy: organically farmed fruit, whole-cluster fermentation, indigenous yeasts, and little to no added sulfur during vinification. The result is a transparent expression of one of Burgundy's most historic Grand Cru vineyards.

The southeast-facing vineyard sits on clay-limestone soils and is planted with mature Pinot Noir vines averaging approximately 65 years of age. Pacalet's approach emphasizes purity, freshness, and site expression rather than extraction or oak influence.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Deep ruby-red with garnet and purple reflections, showing excellent concentration and clarity.

NOSE:
Complex and expressive, revealing black cherry, blackberry, raspberry, red currant, and plum alongside floral notes of violet and rose. Layers of sandalwood, sweet spice, forest floor, leather, and subtle smoky minerality add remarkable depth.

TASTE:
Full-bodied yet elegant, with concentrated red and dark fruit supported by fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity. Notes of cherry, blackberry, cocoa bean, pepper, crushed stone, and savory earth unfold with impressive precision and balance.
