Pierre Damoy Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Tamisot is a highly regarded single-vineyard Pinot Noir from one of the most distinctive monopole vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin. Produced by Domaine Pierre Damoy, a historic estate renowned for its old-vine holdings and traditional Burgundian winemaking, Clos Tamisot offers a rare opportunity to experience a site-specific expression of Gevrey-Chambertin outside the Grand Cru hierarchy.

The Clos Tamisot vineyard is a monopole (sole ownership) of the Damoy family and is planted with exceptionally old Pinot Noir vines, some dating back many decades. Situated near Gevrey-Chambertin’s prestigious Grand Cru vineyards, the site produces wines of remarkable concentration, structure, and complexity while retaining the village-level designation. As a result, Clos Tamisot is often considered one of Burgundy’s greatest value wines relative to its quality and pedigree.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Deep ruby-red with garnet reflections and excellent concentration.

NOSE:
Complex and expressive, featuring aromas of black cherry, red currant, wild blackberry, and plum. Layers of violet, rose petal, forest floor, spice, tea leaf, and crushed stone add depth and sophistication.

TASTE:
Medium to full-bodied with impressive intensity and structure. Dark and red berry fruits are supported by fine-grained tannins, vibrant acidity, and a pronounced mineral backbone. Notes of licorice, clove, earth, and subtle savory nuances contribute to a wine of both power and elegance.

FINISH:
Long and persistent, with lingering dark fruit, spice, floral notes, and mineral complexity.
