Poggio di Sotto Rosso di Montalcino is a benchmark expression of 100% Sangiovese from the southern hills of Montalcino in Tuscany, Italy. Though classified as Rosso di Montalcino DOC, it is made with the same meticulous standards and vineyard sources as Brunello, often selected from barrels that are released earlier for stylistic balance rather than quality separation. The result is a wine widely regarded as a “little Brunello,” combining depth, finesse, and remarkable aging potential.
It is crafted from organically farmed vineyards at varying elevations, with long macerations and extended aging in large Slavonian oak casks for around 24 months, emphasizing purity, structure, and terroir expression.
