Tarlant La Lutétienne Rosé Brut Nature is a distinctive, terroir-driven Champagne from the historic grower estate Maison Tarlant, located in the Vallée de la Marne. Known for its low-intervention philosophy and pioneering work with zero-dosage (Brut Nature) Champagne, Tarlant crafts La Lutétienne as a pure expression of Pinot Noir–based rosé with an emphasis on structure, minerality, and vineyard identity.

The cuvée is named after “La Lutétienne,” referencing the ancient geological limestone (Lutetian limestone) that defines the soils of the region. It is typically produced from a blend of Pinot Noir (dominant), Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier, with a portion of still red wine added for color and aromatic depth. No dosage is added, allowing the wine’s natural acidity and chalky backbone to define its profile.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Pale salmon-pink with copper reflections and a fine, persistent bead.

NOSE:
Complex and vibrant aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant, blood orange, rose petals, pomegranate, citrus zest, and subtle notes of chalk, spice, and dried herbs.

TASTE:
Dry, energetic, and structured. Flavors of fresh red berries, cranberry, cherry skin, citrus peel, and subtle saline minerality dominate. The absence of dosage enhances precision and tension, while the mousse remains fine and creamy. A delicate savory edge adds complexity and depth.

FINISH:
Long, linear, and chalk-driven with lingering notes of red fruit, citrus, and mineral salinity.
