Description

Roc Breïa Chardonnay is an elegant and terroir-focused French white wine crafted by the highly regarded Théo Dancer, son of legendary Burgundian winemaker Louis Dancer. The Roc Breïa project was established to explore exceptional vineyard sites outside Burgundy, with this Chardonnay sourced from the limestone-rich hills of the Mâconnais in southern Burgundy.

Made from 100% Chardonnay, the wine is produced with a minimalist philosophy that emphasizes precision, freshness, and transparency of terroir. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is aged in a combination of neutral oak barrels and larger wooden vessels to preserve purity and texture without overwhelming the fruit.

Roc Breïa Chardonnay has quickly gained a cult following for delivering Burgundian finesse and mineral precision at a more accessible level than many of Théo Dancer's highly sought-after domaine wines.

Tasting Notes

COLOR:
Bright pale gold with green reflections.

NOSE:
Pure and expressive aromas of lemon zest, green apple, pear, white peach, white flowers, acacia blossom, crushed chalk, and subtle hints of hazelnut and fresh pastry.

TASTE:
Medium-bodied with remarkable tension and elegance. Flavors of citrus, orchard fruits, and white stone fruits are layered with notes of wet stone, almond, and delicate creaminess from lees aging. Vibrant acidity and a chalky mineral backbone give the wine exceptional precision and balance.

FINISH:
Long, saline, and beautifully refined, with lingering notes of citrus peel, white flowers, and stony minerality.
