Description
François Carillon Puligny-Montrachet “Clos du Vieux” is a single-plot Chardonnay from the heart of Puligny-Montrachet in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. Produced from carefully selected old vines within a historic enclosed vineyard site (“clos”), this wine reflects the estate’s signature style: precision, minerality, and restrained power. Aged in French oak barrels with measured use of new wood and extended lees contact, it delivers both aromatic purity and layered texture while remaining firmly rooted in the elegance of Puligny terroir.
Tasting Notes
COLOR:
Bright pale gold with subtle green highlights, indicating freshness and youth.
NOSE:
Fine and expressive, opening with citrus zest, lemon curd, green apple, white peach, and pear. As it evolves in the glass, notes of white flowers, crushed stone, light hazelnut, and delicate toasted oak emerge.
TASTE:
Structured yet refined, showing a balance of vibrant acidity and creamy texture. Flavors of lemon, orchard fruit, and subtle stone fruit are supported by a chalky mineral core. The oak influence is integrated, adding subtle spice and roundness without dominating the fruit.
FINISH:
